Privacy Policy
Last updated October 8, 2026
This policy covers the SleepyHivelog app and the Sleepy Cypress Apiary website (sleepycypress.com), run by Sleepy Cypress LLC, doing business as Sleepy Cypress Apiary ("we", "us"). Questions: support@sleepycypress.com.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address and password (stored only as a one-way hash by our login service).
- Your records: the yards, hives, inspections, treatments, harvests, tasks, reminders and notes you enter, who entered them, and the photos you take. Yards may include a location if you add one.
- Plan and payment: which plan your operation is on. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Shop orders: if you order from the website, your name, delivery details, email, phone and what you ordered.
- Location for weather: if you allow it, the weather card uses your phone's approximate location (rounded to about a kilometer) to get the forecast. You can say no and type a town instead.
- Camera and microphone: the app asks for the camera to take hive photos and scan hive QR codes, and the microphone for hands-free inspections. It uses them only when you start those features.
- Website visits: which pages and products were viewed, your device type and your country (not your IP address).
How we use it
To run the app and shop: keep your records, sync them between your devices and your team, send the reminders you set, take payments, fill and deliver orders, and answer your questions. We do not sell your information and we do not show ads.
Voice
Hands-free inspections use your phone's own speech recognition. On Android this can work on the phone itself; on an iPhone or in a browser, the phone's maker (Apple or Google) may process the audio to turn it into text under their own privacy policies. We do not record or keep your voice; only the text of your answers is saved.
Who else handles it
- Supabase stores account and record data and photos.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and app and stores backups.
- Stripe processes payments.
- Our email service sends order confirmations and sign-in emails.
- Open-Meteo receives the approximate location or town you give the weather card, to send back the forecast.
- BigDataCloud receives the approximate location from the weather card, once, to name the town.
- RainViewer receives the weather card's approximate location when you tap the card to open its radar map.
- Google Fonts supplies the lettering for the app, so Google sees your device's IP address when the app loads.
They handle it only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Your team
People you add to your operation can see and edit its records, depending on their role. Records are separated between operations.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your records while your account is open. You can delete your account in the app (Comb tab, Account, Delete account). If you are the only person in your operation, this permanently deletes the operation, its records and photos, cancels any subscription, and removes your login. If you are on a team, it removes your login; what you recorded stays with the operation under your name. Backups are removed on our normal backup schedule. You can also email us to ask for a copy or deletion of your data.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections, and the database only lets people see their own operation's records. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password.
Children
SleepyHivelog is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date above.
